1v1 Legendary Level League [LLL 06/2021]

I’ll sign up if you still have space! (sorry I’m late)

Also, I want to be pointed in the direction of whoever manages the 1v1 leaderboards…

Whoever manages the 1v1 leaderboards is Trucriot, who is also the organiser of this ongoing tournament…

Yes, it is I

21 players have signed up - just need one more to make it an even number and ensure everyone gets to play. Will either calculate the pairings tonight or tomorrow, ideally after a volunteer fills in

i will pass on this round. but, if you need me to even out the matches i can do that for you.

Thanks for being a back-up! Let’s see if anyone else has the courage to sign up until tomorrow when the match-ups will be determined.

All good :stuck_out_tongue:

Some of y’all are fast.

That’s the good thing with turn based games, when both people are online at the same time you can move the game very quickly.

With @Dr_Gaming and @Sneferu the players with more 1v1 games under their belt (in their respective match-ups) are the first winners in this round - congratulations! Hope to see them and their opponents again next round

Seems like @FinrodFelagund was victorious vs @Cryptious on Level 3 yesterday. Any reports from the battlefield?

Indeed, @Cryptious conceded as I was able to secure his push in the center while taking a lead on both flanks and gaining a tech advantage. Due to the high amount of high resource stars on the flanks that were in my hand during the last eco cycle I was able to match his eco push.
While there was certainly some room for further fighting I understand his decision and thank him for the fight.
Looking forward to the next round of LLL

yeh gg @FinrodFelagund I tried to do a big push to take the center of the map, but you played well and took over the flank, and I had nowhere really to go. Was a fun game, but I thought the advantage you had was too much really. I could fight on, but I’m really busy with other things at the moment, maybe if I’d had more spare time I would try to fight on, but I don’t think it would change the outcome.

@Lex just conceded in our game. It was a tight battle with a great map allowing plenty of skirmishes all over the place.
I managed to break through the front line in the centre, and planted a warp gate which allowed me to keep funneling ships directly into @Lex’s territory. Gradually I managed to gain a good lead in both ships and econ, without making a killer blow but I guess the writing was on the wall…
Thanks for a good game @Lex

Thanks for the fun game @Karmadrome !

I tried a science focused strategy and managed to keep ahead by a tech level on both Manufacturing and Terraforming for most of the game, but the econ sacrifice appeared to be not quite worth it. @Karmadrome’s constant attacking pressure forced me to spend too much on Industry, so that I could not keep up on Econ while keeping the Research lead I wanted.

They also seemed to pulled some magic tactical trick where he took my star and build a warp gate on it all in one turn… was I dreaming or did that really happen?

lol, I took it with about 10 ships to spare with a larger fleet incoming to secure it, and saved plenty of cash to drop the gate (it was 6 ticks to prod). You must’ve missed the change of ownership, but I had enough on the way to prevent any counter (the gate was already built at the other end).
A plan that was some time in the making
