Chain ruler?

I understand there is a feature called a chain ruler which enables accurate calculation of travel time to stars.

This sounds useful but I don’t know how to access it.

Is it a "script extension " I need to download and install. If so, a walkthrough on how to do that would be most appreciated.

Is it already installed but I just don’t know how to access it ? If so advice on how to start it will be most appreciated.

I’m pretty new at this, but I think the standard ruler tool in the game does what you need.

In the menu (by default in the upper left-hand corner), there’s a icon that looks something like: |__|

It’s below the compass and next to the lightning bolt.

I didn’t know it was there, and see it now.

You can press “V” to activate it too.
