How do you use the Standard heros (Spawn troops on them)?

I’ve got a few Standard heroes in my deck and I’ve always wondered how they work exactly. In matches I’ve never seen an option like a spell where I can make something appear on them.

Here is an example of a Standard card.

Oh… Do these only apply to Hero cards or something that you deploy? So if this is in effect and you use a Human card, you can pick this Standard as a location?

Yep. That’s pretty much it. I spawned a goblin card at one of them almost a month ago, before I knew what they were; the standard I summoned him at wasn’t even mine.
